I got interested in traditional medicine after my third child was born, which was about 6 years ago. I believe that to me it was collision of many different things that made me think over my lifestyle and way of thinking.
I have also had the opportunity to travel in Asia, where traditional medicine is widely practiced. Not only is it used for achieving well-being, but especially for good health – balancing physical and emotional state.
So the first step of my journey was to start learning from the practicing reflexologists in Estonia. My mentor was Ülo Liivamäe. When I had passed three modules of my study, I had the opportunity to take part in Maternity Reflexology course in London’s Active Birth Centre as a midwife. There everyone practiced the Ingham method , which is the most commonly used method in Europe. This method seemed more suitable for me and after careful consideration, I decided to go and study in London School of Reflexology, where I was mentored by Louise Keet. http://www.learnreflexology.com/
Today I am a qualified specialist in reflexology. I am also a member of England`s Association of Reflexologist. I am required to follow regulations and obliged to improve myself professionally to maintain my membership status.
I have a keen interest in maternity related therapies (pregnancy, labour, babies…), where I am especially committed to improve myself.
In addition I have taken a Thai Reflexology Feet Massage course in Lahemaa Tervisekool, mentored by Kristel Krautman.
I have acquired medicine related education: Midwifery in Tallinn`s Health College and Nurse Science in Medicine Faculty in Tartu University.
I am convinced that one should not odd out the other and academic medicine and natural therapies can successfully be practiced together. The Reflexology is an opportunity to give help without medication.
Aim of my small Therapy Room is to offer other natural treatments as well. Treatments what are beneficial for restoring balance and harmony in the body. Treatments what will offer the psychological benefits of rest, attention and personal care. They will be listed on the menu after I have done my learning.
